THIS TIME IT’S XPLO!
AV XPLO (Audio/Visual Xplosion) is a annual music festival that brings together local underground musicians and artists for a one night only Xplo-sive event!

This Time It’s XPLO will be an explosion of 7 bands and 50 visual artists creating wall-to-wall sound and vision. After countless events in Chicago, the organizers, Tony Vega (art director) and Paul Heintz (Music director) decided it was time to expand the party beyond Chicago to San Francisco. In conjunction with bay area based Mental Monkey Records, the ever-popular 111 Minna St. Gallery will host the very first A/V XPLO in on Thursday May 28th.

This event will coincide with the release of the new Mental Monkey records web identity called Secret Mixtape. Secret Mixtape will be a never-ending online mixtape highlighting free exclusive downloads from amazing underground bands. (secretmixtape.com).

This Time It’s Xplo’s packed lineup features:

Restiform Bodies (Anticon) are back in full force supporting their catchy Electro-Rap cd entitled “TV Loves You Back.”

Furious Stylz features Telephone Jim Jesus (of Restiform Bodies) performing for the first time in SF in their new hard-hitting dub band.

Clipd Beaks (Lovepump/Tigerbeat 6) amazing fans with their fresh, zoned-out rock sound.

Change! (Mental Monkey Records) has an extraordinary live show that causes you to feel like you’ve entered an absinthe party (Complete with theremin and wood hammered dulcimer.)

Midstates (Mental Monkey) are from Chicago and mix New Order like vocals with space motown styled pop music.

Battlehooch (San Francisco) are a popular kraut styled six piece which summons the spirit of Can and Faust.

Cowabunga (San Francisco) is a new electronic act featuring members of the afro-beat pop trio, The Buttercream Gang.
